Hopalong Cassidy brings the Western hero of Clarence E. Mulford’s stories to radio. Cassidy is a steady, principled cowboy whose sense of justice guides him through the dangers and disputes of the frontier, alongside his trusted companions.
The program presents Western adventures in dramatic radio form, using dialogue, narration, music, and sound effects to evoke open country, ranch life, and the tension of a showdown. Its stories draw on familiar Western situations—conflicts over land, law, loyalty, and right and wrong—while keeping Cassidy’s calm judgment at the center.
The result is an accessible, traditional Western with a reassuring moral core: action and suspense are balanced by a hero who prefers fairness but is ready to stand up to trouble. Listeners can settle into the atmosphere of the range and follow a clear, character-led adventure.
