From a Hangar in Alameda
von
Kay Kyser's Kollege of Musical Knowledge is a musical comedy quiz program led by bandleader Kay Kyser. Its lively blend of popular music and playful competition gives listeners a chance to enjoy both the big-band sound and the fun of contestants trying to answer questions.
Kyser serves as an energetic master of ceremonies, guiding the quiz while his orchestra supplies the musical performances. The program is built around songs, questions, and comic exchanges, with the band and vocalists contributing to its buoyant variety-show atmosphere.
Warm, spirited, and rooted in the swing-era sound of a live radio orchestra, the show offers an easygoing mix of music and humor. This broadcast is identified as coming from a hangar in Alameda, adding a specific setting to the program's musical presentation.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
