On the Sunny Side of the Street

Herb Shriner Time is a radio variety program built around the warm, folksy humor of entertainer Herb Shriner. Known for his Indiana-inflected storytelling and easygoing manner, Shriner brings a conversational presence to the show, mixing comedy with musical entertainment.
The program offers a variety of material rather than a single continuous story, with Shriner’s humor and performance at its center. Its title, “On the Sunny Side of the Street,” evokes the light, upbeat character of the entertainment, while the radio format lets listeners enjoy the show through its spoken and musical performances.
Relaxed and personable, Herb Shriner Time suits listeners who enjoy mid-century variety radio and a host whose appeal rests on homespun wit and an approachable style.
