Blue Skies
par
Dinah Shore brings her warm, expressive singing to this radio program, with music at its center. The title identifies this recording with “Blue Skies,” a song associated with the show’s dated broadcast.
Shore’s performances offer a blend of popular song and radio-era vocal entertainment, with her clear phrasing and relaxed delivery giving the music an intimate, welcoming feel. Listeners can settle in for a snapshot of a singer connecting with an audience through song.
The appeal is the combination of Shore’s distinctive voice and the immediacy of a live-era radio performance: polished popular music presented in a personal, conversational broadcast setting.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
