The Big Show

The Big Show is a large-scale NBC variety program hosted by Tallulah Bankhead, bringing together comedy, music, and dramatic entertainment. Its guest performers came from across radio, film, and stage, giving each broadcast the feel of a star-studded showcase.
The program moves among different kinds of performance rather than following a single story: listeners may hear comic routines, musical numbers, and dramatic scenes. Groucho Marx and Bob Hope are named among the performers associated with this recording, offering a taste of the quick wit and celebrity comedy that helped define the show’s variety format.
Bankhead’s distinctive, theatrical presence gives the proceedings a lively frame, while the changing mix of performers keeps the listening experience varied. The result is polished, energetic entertainment built around personality, performance, and the pleasures of a radio variety show.
