The Roma Wine Show
Pistol Packin' Mama
von
The Roma Wine Show is a radio variety program built around music and entertainment. Its title identifies the Roma Wine Company as the program’s sponsor, while the supplied episode title, “Pistol Packin’ Mama,” points to a popular song of the period.
Listeners can expect a performance-centered broadcast rather than a continuing dramatic story. The program offers a snapshot of wartime-era radio entertainment, where songs and other variety material provided a lively change of pace for a home audience.
The appeal is in hearing a period radio show in its original setting: a sponsored musical program with a distinctly contemporary popular-song reference. It suits listeners interested in vintage variety broadcasts and the sound of American radio during the 1940s.
