Susan Warner
The arrival of a new schoolteacher causes quite a stir in the small New England town of Pattaquasset, not the least of it in the house of Mrs. Derrick and her daughter, where the young man boards. Mr. Linden's idea of teaching stretches far beyond the dusty walls of his classroom, and he is not slow in finding much work to be done for his Master. The schoolboys are soon captivated by their new teacher, and Miss Faith Derrick quickly joins the ranks of his eager pupils.
But Mr. Linden is not the only man in Pattaquasset who is attracted to the bright young woman, and his rivals have no intention of letting him carry the field unopposed. When perplexities and dangers begin to multiply, will Faith have the strength to stay true to her heart--and to her newfound Lord? - Summary by BookAngel7 (14 hr 58 min)

Very slow
Wendy Mathieu
I found this book really slow moving for the most part and the story line wasn't terribly interesting. But the readers all did a good job and it helped me get to sleep at night. Thanks to all the volunteers!
Delightful and Edifying
fact
A delightful read! Carefully crafted characters and many moments of learning. It is a fine example of Christian living.
unfinished story
Unknown
Faith, living in a small town, is encouraged to expand her academic and spiritual knowledge when a lodger comes to stay at her mother’s home. All the boys and men seem to be enchanted with her. This story seems to be unfinished in context as there is no “who gets the girl” resolution and the number of chapters... only 36 are available on this book recording while many books written in this time period and by this author have closer to 50 chapters.

Absolutely worthy of time and effort spent in His presence.
Unfinished. The Readers were very good. The book’s ending is unsatisfying.
