Pierre Loti

Pierre Loti [Julien Viaud] (1850-1923) was a French naval officer and novelist. The present book is one of his few works of non-fiction, a small collection of letters and diary entries that describe his views and experiences in the wars and military operations in which he participated. Besides World War I, he also sheds light upon his views and involvement in the preparations for the Turkish Revolution of 1923, for which until today a famous hill and popular café in Istanbul are named after him. chapter 5 beeping :-(
Tom Magnum

chapter 5 narrator has a beeping timer going off every minute or so and needs to be rerecorded.
Brandon Miller

it was rather interesting as an American to hear French perspectives on WW1. They predicted WW2 as well if Hitler wasn't stopped for good. O how slow we are to learn from our past mistakes and believe the assurances and lies of tyrants.
