The Black Cat (1895-1922) was a monthly literary magazine, publishing original short stories, often about uncanny or fantastical topics. Many writers were largely unknown, but some famous authors also wrote original material for this magazine.
In this 9th issue of Volume 3 the following five stories are included:
> "The Storm Warrior", by Max Wagner: an honourable man always does what is right, even if the decision might be hard
> "My Awful Aunts", by Sam Davis: a journalist and his aunts fall prey to a practical joke

> "The Iron Star", by Frank L. Pollock: a Servian Count puts everything into action to fight for the love of his life
> "A Baratarian Elaine", by Henry E. Chambers: poor Lasthenie suffers from the pangs of her first love
