The Truth about Sowers and Reapers John 4:36-38 Already he who reaps is receiving wages and is gathering fruit for life eternal; so that he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. 37 For in this case the saying is true, ‘One sows and another reaps.’ 38 I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored and you have entered into their labor.” Sowers and reapers are challenged to recognize the opportunity at hand – the right combination of circumstances, time, and place Apostle Paul’s opportunity in Acts 16:9 – a vision came to apostle Paul one night – a Macedonian man stood and pleaded with him saying “come over to Macedonia and help us!” Sowers and reapers should understand the things at work! A Zeal for Souls is at work! – You begin to have a strong feeling of interest and enthusiasm that make you eager or determined to do something Compassion is at work! – you’ve developed a sympathetic consciousness of the distress that other people are going through and also you’ve developed a desire to help alleviate their suffering. God’s promises to workers are at work! Apostle Paul wrote, (Hebrews 6:10) For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name, in having ministered and in still ministering to the saints. Sowers and Reapers know there’s something in that name: Elohim – God Our Creator Adonai – God the Lord, our Master Jehovah-Jireh – the One who sees our needs and provides for them. Emmanuel – God with us Eternal Life – You begin to understand that eternal life is not only life everlasting but the true life that Christ gives! John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. John 3:15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
