Strange As It Seems (Old Time Radio)

(4,667 Sterne; 3 Bewertungen)

Strange As It Seems was a syndicated newspaper comic feature that brought the strange and curious facts to its readers. It was started in 1928, about 10 years after Ripley's Believe It or Not! which is more widely known at the time of this posting. The creator, John Hix, emphasized that all items that appeared were verified by three independent sources. These late 1930s recordings involve interesting narration and dramatized segments that make for good, light entertainment. These are tape transfers from the syndication discs made in the 1970s that have recently been digitized. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strange_as_It_Seems

This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.

These are great. Naming of Pennsylvania- was it really as easy as that?? Ive heard this story many times before. Penn was a brilliant author and a devout Christian as well (his "No Cross, No Crown" is well worth finding and reading on Archive.org) anyway fun listening thank you for uploading
