Great Short Stories Made Suspense
Charlie Heinz
Authors still write great short stories but there's hardly a good paying market for them, if any market at all. Maybe community cable productions or YouTube. Suspense was comprised of such great short stories. I especially like Gene Lockhart in "Statement of Henry Wilson." He was perfect for it, bringing a bit of his characterization of the humble clerk in the classic film A Christmas Carol. This time with retribution though. Elsewhere on Suspense I especially liked "Subway Stop" written by Arthur Zigouras. In all, Suspense had a way of getting you into the story immediately then hooked you with music, sound effects, characterizations, direction, and above all the story.
Suspense - THE BEST

From the haunting theme to the well told stories this fantastic series will, at its best, transport you to another time and a place of imagination. At it's worst its entertaining and evocative of place fading from memory. An absolute treasure !
Three Times Murder, Suspense Radio
The Lodger 1927
Super voice and great actress, Rita Hayworth in this radio episode. Her ability to make 'live' her acting is a superb account of true acting. It would be great to have reproductions of Suspense Radio theater for television!
A true classic
human
Given the era in which it was produced (mono recordings, no fancy digital sound effects, etc.) these stories are absolute classics. They don't make stories like these anymore!

This show sounds like a Dragnet episode. The actor playing the bad guy is Jack Webb. This must be where Webb got the idea for Dragnet.

Is Claira Trevor the best bronx babe voice in the biz? "I never carry it around, its too heavy" Cracked me up.
