what a voice!

(4 Sterne)

Excellent, witty book read by a Charles Laughton sound-alike. A gem.

The Three Clerks

(4,5 Sterne)

A real delight . Not only Anthony Trollope ( one of my favorite writer - more even than the great Dickens) but the reading of MR. A. Ogus is just superb . I can listen to his riding continuous and for ever . His reading , his voice is addictive ! A big THANKS TO MR. ANTHONY OGUS !

SLOW, EVEN FOR TROLLOPE

(5 Sterne)

One must always enjoy (or at least, appreciate) the intimacy with the characters. This work is no exception, and we triumph and suffer with each of the clerks. The basic problem is that these are all pedestrian persons , none being of special interest. The reader is topnotch!

Brilliant!

(5 Sterne)

Admittedly I'm a fan of Trollope, but The Three Clerks must be among my favourites now. The dialogues between Undy and Alaric are chilling - Trollope could be describing too many of today's politicians. So beautifully read by Anthony Ogus. Many thanks to you all.

Awesome! You will be hooked!

(5 Sterne)

As always, great plots and characterization! What a writer! Have downloaded all his books. The reader , although new to me, is now one of my favorites! Will look more from home, too. Don't miss this one!

(2 Sterne)

The narrator is excellent, but the novel is not. Trollope indulges himself in too many diatribes and labored irony. His depictions of women and marriage are inconsistent and unrealistic and, from a modern perspective, somewhat offensive.

the three clerks

(5 Sterne)

I thoroughly enjoyed the book. It is well written; the characters well drawn and the story is interesting. But mostly I compliment the reader, Anthony Ogus who did an excellent job! Thank you!

(5 Sterne)

Excellent reader! And as a long-time Trollope fan, I enjoyed reading about characters who presumably were drawn from the author's young life. It seems that Charley Tudor was based at least partially on Trollope himself.
