The Rouschuk papers are missing, and the Secretary of State does not know who is behind the theft. His wife has been behaving strangely as well. He never asked about her mysterious past because he loves and respects her. Yet, something must be behind her secretive behavior. In addition, Count Vladmir, the Russian Ambassador, has been making a number of appearances, more so than affairs of state would warrant. What ties them all together? Intrigue, missing papers, and missing people make for an interesting story. Reading was good.
