The Royal Book of Oz (1921) is the fifteenth in the series of Oz books, and the first to be written by Ruth Plumly Thompson after L. Frank Baum's death. Although Baum was credited as the author, it was written entirely by Thompson.

The Scarecrow is upset when Professor Wogglebug tells him that he has no family, so he goes to where Dorothy Gale found him to trace his "roots." Then he vanishes from the face of Oz.

Dorothy and the Cowardly Lion mount a search for their friend, but when that is successful, they will need to become a rescue party! (5 hr 6 min)

A delightful story - Beautifully narrated

Worthy Addition

(5 Sterne)

Thompson has written a worthy addition to a wonderful series. It is telling that Baum's widow endorses this so readily. I believe Baum himself would have been jealous Of The renewed vigor of adventure and Ozniss of this tale.

it is as honest an attempt to carry on as anyone could hope for.

Your a great reader, but you can't sing poetry! At the end of every fourth line (the last in the stanza) raise the pitch of your voice! It sounds like something is coming if you don't

A nice book with a good adventure

Enjoyed

This is the first Oz book I have read since I was a child. I wouldn't call myself a fan, but by the end I could see the appeal of these books. It was so happy and optimistic with such simple and yet magical adventures. And the narrator was simply amazing.
