Preserved here as Broadcast Quality FLAC files This is a radio comedy sketch show, written mainly by scriptwriters who were also writing sketches at that time for The Two Ronnies on television and for The News Huddlines on radio. This show is thought to be the earliest surviving series starring Griff Rhys Jones , who became famous in the 1980s on television in the political satire Not The Nine O'Clock News and (with Mel Smith) in Alas Smith and Jones . It also stars John Lloyd , who later became famous as a BBC radio producer. Among many successful radio comedy shows, in the 1970s he produced The Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy in 1978, and co-wrote its first series with his friend Douglas Adams. They had been at University together. Not preserved by the BBC, who junked the studio recordings, these broadcasts survive only because they were recorded off air on transmission by a listener, Canadian radio comedy fan Gary Schajer.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
