William Kenrick
Falstaff's Wedding (1760 and 1766) is a play by William Kenrick. It is a sequel to Shakespeare's plays Henry IV, Part 2 and The Merry Wives of Windsor. Most of the characters are carried over from the two Shakespeare plays.
There are two distinct versions of the play. The first, recorded here, was published in 1760, and is a serious play with a plot to kill Henry V of England. This play was not well received when presented in 1766, and so a completely revised version was prepared and staged later in 1766 that drops the serious parts and expands the comic elements into a farce.
