Inventer, electric guitar

(5 Sterne)

Bing Crosby upone hearing about les paul instructed ampex to send him a tape recorder. les invented the electric pickup and thus the electric guitar was born, he also invented the reverb. I used to hear them on local tv there show came live from royal oaks in the San Fernando Valley. AMary would sing from the shower as les recorded her on the tape recorder. he remixed her voice and edited it. things no one was doing yet. this is a rare look at the beginning of the electric music era. for that historical reason I give it. 5 stars and say don't miss history in the making.

Les Paul and Mary Ford

(5 Sterne)

I was a few years away from being born when the definitive version of How High the Moon by Les Paul and Mary Ford became a hit, but I love it! And the more I listen to them sing and play, the more I love them as a team. But without the sweet angelic voice and shy gentle beauty of Mary, Les is of very little interest to me. Sadly, they split up in the 1960s, but it doesn't matter now. Together they were amazing and made beautiful music that was simply heavenly. These shows are a delightful listen.

What year?

A portion of the title reads -500612- Translation: 1950 June 12th Actually for the OTR tibis is actually one of the best ways of identifying the programs - Almost. I like my way better; which is: 470326_GreatGildersleeve-(Ep242)-NewPianoTeacher.mp3 DateOfBroadcast_ShowTitle-(Episode#)-EpisodeTitle Using THIS arrangement I can almost instantly and easily find programmes that are germane to a spicific date among atll the directories that are individually dedicated to specific shows. Les was important to our musical history. Noah 8-?

inventive

A delightful showcase of this innovative master of the electric guitar. The vocals and accompanying musicians are wonderful, but it is Paul's immaculate guitar style that carries these selections.
