One of the Best Radio Shows Ever!

(5 Sterne)

I lower the bass and up the treble on my tone controls and get a studio sound quality. Just needed some audio processing. The first shows on page 1 sound like they were out of audio alignment. Networks and stations liked to record the show for review. Disc recording was the defacto recording method, and it is very tricky to get a good recording. In any even, even the shows where the sound weaves in and out can be audio processed in your computer or, like I do, in a separate equalizer. Thus, all are listenable. Some more than others. I will contribute cash to Archive.org at their mailing address to gratitude. Best way for me. Tov!

Oscar Levant: most intelligent man on Earth?

(5 Sterne)

Mythology, geography, literary topics, music, ancient Greece, royal genealogy! Name your topic, and Oscar's got your answer. Such luminaries as Ogden Nash, some others who are all well read. Few women on the board and I've yet to hear one who has done well on the show, either. You'll find yourself listening again and again to these programs because they're entertaining, funny and educational all in one. To hear Oscar Levant's instant answers to complex musical or poetry queries is stunning. He not only was a genius but had OCD during his lifetime. Maybe it helped his memory who knows who cares. Great show and great addition to the OTR selection. Thank you

If anyone has a complete copy of show 28...

This specific show could use it. A chunk is missing close to the end, though the end itself isn't cut off. That's Show 28, 2/28/41.

much better sound quality! very entertaining!

this show has broadened my horizons so much. I've fallen in love with 'the rime of the ancient mariner.'

The sound quality on this one is much better than on page 1
