This is Gangbusters, one of the best ever.
Gangbusters is fantastic!

Gangbusters is fantastic. These must be on vertical transcriptions, which was the analog days version of CD audio or DVD video today. That is, they were recorded in a "hill and dale" or vertical groove manner as compared to the lateral recordings that became LPs. Thus vertical cutting gave no groove noise or clicks or pops. It was the ultimate sound quality. And the playback needle would not get stuck in a groove. If the industry had gone to vertical in an LP groove, they would still be making LPs! CD/DVD is an inferior technology. Think about all the dud digital discs each of us encountered that will freeze up or stop dead in its tracks. Only problem I've encountered in this Gangbusters playlist is that some won't advance to the next show. That's a minor problem though. Sound levels vary, too. Again, no big deal. Just glad the overall quality is outstanding.

I give a 4 star because the quality of the recording is horrible. I understand the quality of the recording is partly due to the way it was done back then, it is hard to listen at times. The thing I honestly don't like is the beginning of the show. That noise drives Me and My cat crazy. Overall, I enjoy the OTR recordings.
Well produced and acted

Good stuff.who knew j.edgar had his own true crime radio show..but then why wouldn't he? He was into power and celebrity, for starters. He was no slouch on this project apparently. In CHICAGO TUNNEL GANG intro mentions that one of GB's listeners had helped catch some wanted man. Early crimebusters!
boring hard to follow with all the interruptions
a lot of 5 min long commercials in the form of plays make this show hard to follow. I'm not sure what the previous reviewer was talking about with the audio, its very garbled and difficult to make out
