he sounds exactly like he's been there, growing up in California I did pan gold it is hard work backbreaking sunburn but once you find gold in your pan you don't realize you're even sunburned walk through Sutter's fort reading in the book was like going back in time to when I was a young woman walking through the port and looking at all amazing book walk through the San Francisco area truly a well-written book
