On A Donkey's Hurricane Deck
Robert Pitcher Woodward
Read by LibriVox Volunteers
" A Tempestous Voyage of Four Thousand and Ninety-Six Miles Across the American Continent on a Burro, in 340 Days and 2 Hours - starting without a dollar and earning my way." The journey could be accomplished in 5 days by train, but the author took close to a year to work his way across the country. This is a witty and amusing account of one man (and his donkey)'s adventures crossing the American continent from New York to San Francisco. (Summary by Lynne Thompson) (13 hr 46 min)

If you want an audiobook narrated by a single narrator, get the to a library or any of the 8,999,999,999 other purveyors of audiobooks. Get thee Away from LibriVox, preferably tied to the poop deck of an porcupine. I am so tired of hearing abuse from reviewers in response to the wonderful volunteers who give these gifts of books. More power to those who read to improve their language skills, and to the gender-bender readings too. I thank all of you for reading to me, and it's clear there are many more fans than whiners, so please don't let them make you stop. From personal experience at PBS I saw how viewers whining about pledge breaks resulted in ads creeping in there. PS/good luck finding this great old book in audio format anywhere but LibriVOX. Another reason to leave LV alone whiners!
