Read by LibriVox Volunteers
An introverted, kind-hearted book collector befriends a mad scientist, who isn’t exactly a good friend. When the scientist falls in love with the book collector’s fiancée, he concocts an evil plot to have her for his own. Edgar Fawcett was a prolific author of standard fiction. With Douglas Duane he stepped out of his genre and created an unusual weird fiction work. (Summary by Amy Gramour.) (6 hr 6 min)

I really liked this story. It reminded me a bit of H. G. Wells' Time Machine. The way it's told from the scientist's perspective after the fact.
