Persuasion is a regency Cinderella-esque tale of a young woman, the beautiful Anne Elliot, who is persuaded from marrying the Naval officer of her heart. It is now almost nine years since she rejected him. Bonaparte has abdicated and England's sailors return home covered in glory. Fredrick Wentworth is now a rich and highly eligible sea captain and the two are curiously thrown together. Will their forgotten affection blossom anew? Or has the captain found another? I wish Madame Tusk had more audio recordings to listen to!

I really like the way she changes her voice for different characters, especially between the men and women. It makes the story much easier to follow!

It took a few minutes for me to settle in to this narrator’s style and what an excellent style it turns out to be.

Thank you for your version of this classic! It was beautifully read and I enjoyed it a great deal.

(4.5 stars)

This Witty 200 year old bumpy romance leaves you wondering until the last chapter whether love will triumph. Don’t be scared away by its reputation as a classic. Human nature hasn’t changed much. Snobbery, self-absorption and greed are still around.

Well done...

Good reading and okay characterization. Others have done better but fairly accomplished.
