A Fascinating Concept

(5 stars)

The reader did a wonderful job and reads with excellent cadence and intonation. The story itself is really fascinating, and you can really tell how the brainchild was formed. There's no frills or bows, just frustration and loneliness, and in addition to the concept itself, one can use the idea as a metaphor for so many human conditions (especially chronic health conditions or identities) that others often become impatient or frustrated over. Good read, thank you.

Superb! Wonderful!

An exquisite reading of a great story. If you've seen the movie before hearing this, it may seem like some things are missing, or some significances reimagined. But the original text gives more of a clue as to the times of the actual writing, whereas the film is clearly an update from around 70 or 80 years later, clearly showing artistic license, etc. I like both.

This is a comfy book to listen to when you don't have a lot of time. (only an hour). BUT It's so his! Mr. Mike's delivery is the perfect voice for Benjamin Button. It has a note of humor mixed with matter-of-factness. now off to find a couple more works by this reader.

Good recording, reads kind of fast

The chapter titles kind of blend into the text, and for a short story the words could be lingered over a bit more than they are. Otherwise, quite a good recording sound quality wise, and good voice acting that doesn't get in the way of the story.

Amazing

Great reading of an intetesting story. Out of the 30 or so books I've listened to on librivox John is the best reader I've heard so far. This reading is as good as a professional recording.

Well read!!

The narrator, Mike Vendetti, did a wonderful job at reading this short story! His voice had infliction, and was interesting to listen to as Benjamin would reduce in age. I would recommend this version!
