Pride and Prejudice (version 2)
Jane Austen
Read by Annie Coleman Rothenberg

Jane Austen’s classic novel chronicles the events in the lives of the Bennet family. Take a family with five unmarried daughters and a lack of wealth, throw in a new wealthy neighbor or two, plus a whole regiment of soldiers in town, and add a heaping spoonful of pride and a pinch of prejudice. Mix it all together and you get a story full of tears and laughter, embarrassment and pride, and, of course, love. (Summary by Annie Coleman) (13 hr 25 min)

What a wonderful story

LEM
This is a great story! It was my first time to hear it and I would like to now read the book. The reader was clear and read at a nice pace, but there were quite a few spots that I couldn't decipher which character was talking because dialogue goes back & forth without saying who said it. If the reader had made more distinction in her voice between the characters it would have helped a lot. Chapters 58 and 59 are switched. 58 is labeled as 59 and vice versa, so I had to skip the one labeled 58 and then go back to it after I listened to the one labeled 59.

Enjoyed this reader immensely. Annie Coleman did a very good job bringing the characters to life. I had originally heard her read "Anne of Green Gables," with which she also succeeded well.
Excessively nice!

The narrator was not suited to read Jane Austen’s classic novel. Could not get past the first chapter.
