Modern West Coast Jazz and Cool School Showcase
by
Jazz Today presents a showcase of modern West Coast jazz and the cool school sound. The program offers a focused listening experience for anyone interested in this style of jazz, with the music itself at the center.
Its title points to a program devoted to contemporary jazz as heard in 1959, bringing together the West Coast approach and the cooler, more restrained school of playing. Settle in for a snapshot of jazz culture shaped around those sounds and their distinctive musical character.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
