Pat O'Daniel and the Hillbilly Boys
Barrel Polka
by
Pat O'Daniel and the Hillbilly Boys presents a country-music performance centered on Pat O'Daniel and his band. This recording is identified with “Barrel Polka,” a tune that points toward the lively, dance-oriented side of the program.
Listeners can expect a musical radio performance rather than a narrated story: the band’s playing is the focus, with the polka providing a buoyant, rhythmic centerpiece. Its straightforward appeal lies in hearing a period country ensemble bring a familiar dance tune to the airwaves.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
