The Chase and Sanborn Hour

Hundredth Anniversary Show

English · Radio, Music, Humor

The Chase and Sanborn Hour was a variety program built around comedy, music, and guest appearances. Its title evokes the classic radio variety-show format, where performers and musical acts shared the broadcast rather than following a single continuing story.

The program’s appeal lies in the contrast between spoken entertainment and musical performance, with comedy and guest turns providing variety from one segment to the next. The “Hundredth Anniversary Show” title gives this recording a celebratory framing, while the hour’s variety format offers a mix of performance styles.

For listeners who enjoy vintage radio entertainment, this is a chance to hear a program shaped by the lively, mixed-bill tradition of radio variety: comedy alongside music, presented as a shared event rather than a solo narration.

This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
