Jan Savitt and His Top Hatters
Back to Back
by
Jan Savitt and His Top Hatters presents the sound of a popular swing orchestra led by bandleader and violinist Jan Savitt. The ensemble’s polished dance-band style brings together lively rhythms and a bright, full-bodied orchestral sound.
Listeners can expect a musical program centered on the band and its performances, with the appeal of a classic big-band sound rather than a spoken dramatic story. The title’s “Back to Back” wording suggests a paired presentation, though no further program details are provided.
For fans of vintage swing, the attraction is the interplay of the orchestra and Savitt’s distinctive leadership: energetic, melodic music suited to both attentive listening and an easygoing dance-hall mood.
