Welcome to Pine Ridge, home of the Jot 'em Down Store.   This upload contains 1646 files of the Lum and Abner old time radio show, starring Charles Lauck and Norris Goff. The dates, episode numbers and titles are believed to be correct based on available sources, but any corrections are welcome.  The files have been formatted to be classified easily as podcasts in iTunes. Disclaimer: By uploading these files, I make no claim to ownership or copyright.  These recordings have been acquired from publicly available sources on the Internet. i am old enough to have heard them live as a child. I had an uncle who never missed an episode. Now at 86 I am hooked. I downloaded all of episodes and listen to them when driving alone. They bring back good memories of what it was like in my youth. I have probably listed to each episode at least 4 times and can't get enough. I love the folksy, down-home humor. I grew up in small town Illinois but moved to Arkansas at 45. I can just image what it was like in the early '40s and 50's. Great place and great people. I plan on someday driving to the Mena, AR area and visiting the Jotem down store.

With over 5000 shows created, a little more then 1600 episodes, in known in existence today, wouldn't it be great if someone found the remaining 3000+ lost episodes? I wish I could find a list to all the episodes in order of date of shows, these shows would be more enjoyable that way. If the stories wasn't continued, it wouldn't matter bt just like TV shows, one would want to watch a two part show in order for sure, or they would never know how the how would end? Thanks for posting these Bud! I love these ole boys, they bring a smile to ones face for sure.

This is just wonderful!I've been wishing for these old shows for a long ,long time.I grew up at the very end of the " Golden Age ." I heard just enough as a child to remember how mesmerizing and enjoyable these shows were.I finally located them tonight through the Internet Archive.It's like a bygone world has opened up to me!I'll be tuned in regularly!! The problem is "What do I listen" to first?" I'm like a kid at his first candy store!!

I've been an old radio show fan for quite some time, and love the variety of shows available. Lum and Abner is a great show, good clean fun, but very different from today's idea of humor. I've was so happy to finally find easy access to all the episodes at once. Thank you. I will be listening to these when I go to bed each night for many months.

Thanks, Geno, for catching the typo of Chester Lauck's name. Not sure how I missed that. I have been trying to edit the upload, but it is not letting me for some reason, probably because it is so large. When I fix the numbering, I will probably re-upload everything again in two parts.

incorrect dates


In the episode "171 L&A 1935-09-25 (203) Will Lum Will Skip Out On His Bail", the announcer says that the schedule will change "next Monday, October 21" This calls into question the dates listed for almost all of the earlier episodes, and 172 and 173.

Correction


His name was Chester Lauck, not Charles.
