Deconstructing Emotions Retreat
Ven. Robina Courtin
How do we develop a healthy, balanced attitude towards our emotions? Normally we either suppress what we feel or we explode it out onto other people. The Buddhist approach is a practical one and involves recognizing we have them and then working on them. Sometimes our mind is like a thick jungle of disturbing thoughts and emotions; it’s hard to really see what’s going on. With mindfulness, honesty, and discriminating intelligence we can start to identify what’s going on and slowly transform our emotions to cultivate positive, healthy states of mind. Biography of Ven. Robina: Ordained since the late 1970s, Ven. Robina has worked full time since then for Lama Thubten Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche's FPMT. Over the years she has served as editorial director of Wisdom Publications, editor of Mandala Magazine, executive director of Liberation Prison Project, and as a touring teacher of Buddhism.
