So so

I am not sure what to say about this book. It was okay. I could not really invest myself in any of the characters. The dog Wellington was more likable than his mistress. I liked the character of Hugh as I felt sympathy for him. This book I think tries to be a little bit Romeo and Juliet. The writer goes off on a lot of tangents and I found myself thinking just get on with the story. The narrator had a good clear voice, but she read in a rather monotone way which was also made the story somewhat less interesting.
