"For the honor of the family name", a scoundrel is allowed to continue their wickedness. How is that possibly call "Honor". I believe it more honorable to stop and expose evil, than hide it.

Good story, fairly good reader

Interesting story and worth a listen. Sharon Kilmer is a good reader, though there was a mispronunciation in Chapter 10 - the word is "apoplectic", not "apocalyptic".

There's a lot of unrequited love for 1 man, selfishness, & gypsies in this story. There is a murder to solve but there is more of a focus on the characters. The summary is accurate.

neatly wrapped up ending!

Thanks to reader for the time and effort she put into reading the book for LibriVox. The mispronunciations were jarring, but the plot kept me interested.

Too much gypsy speech

Reader is great, but the story is drawn out and not so interesting

THE ULTIMATE ALLEGORY

Hume never wastes time with a drawn out ending.
